Cole Eye Center Expansion

Fueled by continued growth of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, the building expansion and renovation will create an integrated and world-class eye center located on the Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus. Boulevard Studios led the landscape architecture, respecting the Clinic’s campus standards while incorporating pedestrian amenities that give back to the surrounding neighborhoods and community. The importance of the drop-off loop and project’s proximity to Cleveland’s Health Line meant designing the site and pedestrian pathways with special care for patients with diminished and obstructed vision. Thus, the plant palette was created for bold contrasts in color and texture as well as sensory garden spaces intended to heal and serve both patients and hospital staff.
